Lake View Terrace

* * *

Along a hilly pair of deserted fields straddling the interstate 210, in a part of the Valley called Lakeview Terrace, there is a tiny encampments of homeless, school-aged children. With no place else to go, they've created lean-to shelters beneath trees, replete with places to sleep, cook, dress and do their homework. They walk to school through a footbridge, more like a cage surrounded by razor-wire, over the freeway.
